The Main Stage is located in the Grand America Hotel and is huge. The stage is all the way in the back and then there are seats divided into left, center and the right side. In the back there are some tables to stand by and beverages. My suggestion is to honestly get as close as possible to the front. You will just have a much better view of the speakers and events as opposed to being in the back and watching on the screens. Who knows, maybe if there are guest celebrities, you can lock eyes and sell the rights of your movie to Hallmark.

Furthermore, the Main Stage is where Domo feature releases happen and it's full of energy and excitement. Domo employees will come out and show off what they have been working on all year for us to use and seriously, don't be afraid to make some noise. You'll hear it - the room will electrify and it's magical.

After all the speaking events, the main stage is also where the night time fun happens. From Boyz II Men, to Harry Mack, to T-Pain to Styx, the musical acts happen all on the Main Stage. However, as an avid concert goer (I went to 40 shows in 2024), this isn't setup like a concert. You don't have to elbow your way to the front- you just need to tell people your favorite type of data join and they will usually make room for you unless you say you prefer Right Joins.

The cherry on top for Domopalooza is the annual ski trip. Every year Domo provides lift tickets, equipment rentals and transportation to Ski Resort close by. You'll get fitted for skis or snowboards at Domopalooza and your gear will be picked up at the actual Ski resort. Domo also usually gets a room with people chaperoning so you don't have to worry about getting a locker.

If you have never skied or snowboarded before, you should probably take a lesson at the resort or before the ski trip. The resort usually has group lessons. They may be pricey, but you'll walk away with another skill. Often times people don't realize how hard skiing might be and once you're on that mountain...the only way off is to go down. Try the bunny slopes first and then maybe a green if you're feeling it, but it's always better to default to the feeling of having fun - not terror.

Lastly, if you are staying at the Grand America Hotel, the spa is fantastic. Treat yourself and splurge a bit after skiing on the last day. There are multiple pools, steam baths and saunas. If you're going to Australia the next day, cancel your flight because you'll be smelling like eucalyptus and the Koalas will get to you.

I've never had a bad year at Domopalooza. I remember the first time I went, I saw former Domosapien, Brent Dykes, give a presentation called Stories Beat Statistics. It was amazing and so inspiring and he got a huge round of applause. Flash forward to now and I can't believe that I will have spoken at 3 Domopaloozas in the US, 1 in Japan and received the highest attendance rates at my sessions for the past two years. 2019 short haired John Le would be so proud.
